LO4: Production Log

Date
Activity
11th January 2013
As a group we started off our treatment by answering questions, which were related to our documentary based on ‘arranged marriages’. In our treatment we had to include the locations, the start, middle and end to our documentary, length of the programme and others things.

18th January 2013
We took two weeks completing our treatment and over view. We could only do this much, due to the school closure on this day at 12.30pm.
25th January 2013
During this week we collected pictures for our mood board, relating to our documentary. We completed our mood board by adding pictures that could be used within the exposition of our documentary.
1st February 2013
Last Friday we were completing a paragraph of writing which will be included in the voice over of our documentary. This paragraph for the voice over will appear in the first minute of our exposition.
8th February 2013
We produced an actor agreement, permission slip, risk assessment and budget plan. Palvi was assigned to the diary log, risk assessment was assigned to Hennah and the budget plan was assigned to Gulshan. Once the tasks were completed we sent them to each other therefore we all have copies of the paperwork. By dividing the tasks it was more efficient for our group.
22nd February 2013
Half term holidays
1st March 2013
In this session our group sat down to discuss the structure of our script. We managed to complete the script during this time period.
8th March 2013
During this session we had an internal observation and hence we worked as a group to decide a director. I was nominated as the director for our group and my role was too pitch our idea to our audience and get their feed back. From the feedback given we made additional adjustments to our idea and the codes and conventions we were going to use. We typed up the codes and conventions we were going to use for our programme and gave examples how we were going to use it. Whilst I was doing this, Gulshan and Palvi were being audiences to other groups and collecting more ideas to improve for our factual programme.
15th March 2013
On this day we completed the questions we were going to ask our interviewees and experts, produced a production schedule for the following two weeks and started filming.
5th April 2013
During this lesson we rang local mosques and churches to see if we could arrange Imams and priests who would contribute to our Arranged Marriages documentary. Gulshan and Palvi went to the Spire House to try and arrange a time with a registrar.
12th April 2013
As I was absent this week, Gulshan and Palvi went to Veronica to arrange an appointment for the following week so that we could record her. After this they
completed any outstanding paperwork.
19th April 2013
During this day we filmed Veronica (school counselor), Mrs. Bruno and Amirah (student) for our documentary. We asked Veronica the expert questions and we asked Mrs. Bruno and Amirah the common individual questions. They answered our questions in full depth.
26th April 2013
Today we put all our work onto the Factual Programming template.
3rd May 2013
On this day we recorded Mrs Baruchi, Mrs Kar and my responses to the questions for our documentary use. We then uploaded the files onto the computer and changed the file format so that it would be compatible with Premier Pro.
